Junior Chess Club

The Junior Chess Club is a club where junior chess players of all abilities can come to play competitive and non-competitive chess. Help for beginners is available. Our aim is to promote chess as an enjoyable and educational aide for school age children ("juniors") in Medicine Hat and surrounding communities.

Services: Individual chess instruction. Access to extensive resource books during weekly meetings. Resource people for school chess clubs. Liaison with known key contact people of the active school chess clubs.

Special events: Annual "Junior" Medicine Hat & Area Spring Tournament: early - mid March.

Eligibility criteria for services or membership: Any "junior" (18 years of age or younger, or grade school student) with an interest in chess.
